Web Design and Development

Aztech Architecture is an architectural practise based in Bristol. Their
brief was to provide a simple intuitive interface that was clean and formal
for their informative website.
Developing web applications is the crux of what we do here at Technik Media.
Our aim is to help small and large businesses create an effective online
presence. By this we mean creating a website that will be useful to you
and to your customers.
Generally, the development of a website follows this process:
- Agree on a brief with customer about the design and function
- Graphic mockup of the website / design information architecture
- Create html markup for the page design
- Develop any dynamic functionality and information architecure
Basically, the first 2 steps are part of what we call the design process and the latter 2 steps the development process.
After you have first contacted us and decided you would like to involve us in your project we will talk to you about your needs. You may already have a website which you would like further work on, in which case we probably wouldnt be carrying out any design work.

Websites generally fall into at least one of the following categories:
Informative
We use this term to describe a website that basically just provides information
and data. This information may simply describe your companies services,
products, background, history etc. The website may be purely for educational
purposes. These websites may require updating regularly but they do not
do anything particularly dynamic ie. allow the user to interact with the
site.
A contact form may be required which allows a small degree of interaction
ie. it allows the users of your site to contact you via email usually.
This sort of site is the most cost efficient but can become expensive to set up and maintain if the website consists of hundreds of pages.

Online Services
This type of website would provide information and would also allow a certain
degree of interaction eg. this Technik Media website could probably be considered
informative since it generally just presents information. However, we also
provide, via this site, a simple content editing system for some users to
update their website content - this is an example of an online service.
Other examples of sites that provide online services are:
- stock market share websites - these are updated frequently and dynamically to provide stock data
- search engines - sites like google provide you with a free service to search the web
- web services - these services provide all sorts of functions eg. providing weather data
These sites may be free of charge or at a cost to the user.
Web sites that provide online services require some degree of dynamic coding/programming
going on behind the scenes. Just exactly how much of this work will determine
how much development will cost.

eCommerce
We use this term to describe websites that offer online product purchasing.
Specifically, ecommerce is the buying and selling of goods and services
online. We can provide guidance on choosing an eCommerce solution that suits
your companies requirements.
